No. 48. Communicating With Appendant Bodies
Whereas, The regulations of certain appendant bodies or concordant orders of Freemasonry require that membership therein is dependent upon the good standing of the member in a Symbolic Lodge and whenever a member has remained a voluntary non-affiliate in his lodge for a certain definite period, his name shall be stricken from the roll of these appendant bodies, and:
Whereas, The Grand Secretary has no authority to communicate officially with said bodies in order to give them the information which they may desire or require to purge their rolls, therefore be it Resolved: That the Grand Secretary be and he is hereby authorized to communicate such information relative to the good standing of members of subordinate lodges in this jurisdiction when so requested, to the following recognized Masonic Bodies:
a. Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Rhode Island.
b. Grand Council Royal and Select Masters of Rhode Island.
c. Grand Commandery of Knights Templars of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
d. The Supreme Council of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America, whose Grand East is in Lexington in the State of Massachusetts.
e. The Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.
f. The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm, Grottoes of North America.
g. The Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America.
h. Also the subordinate Bodies of each of these Grand Bodies and such other Masonic Bodies as are recognized by the said Grand Bodies.

49 Masonic Home Fund and Trustees

NO. 49. Masonic Home Fund And Trustees
Resolved: That the sum of two thousand dollars be and hereby is appropriated from the funds of Grand Lodge for the establishment of a Masonic Home Fund for the relief of indigent Masons and the widows and orphans of Masons. Said fund to be administered by a board of five trustees of which the Grand Master shall be one, and chairman, ex-officio. Said trustees shall be first appointed by the Grand Master for terms of four, three and two, and one year, respectively, and thereafter the Grand Master shall appoint at each Annual Communication one trustee who shall serve for four years. In the event of death or resignation of any trustee the Grand Master shall appoint a trustee to serve during the unexpired term of such trustee.
The said trustees shall invest and re-invest said fund in their discretion, and may use the income only thereof for the relief of Masons or their widows or orphans in this jurisdiction.
Said fund shall not be used for any other purpose than is herein before provided without the consent of three-fourths of all the members present at a special communication of Grand Lodge called by the Grand Master for the purpose.
The trustees shall report the condition of the fund at each Annual Communication.
When the fund shall amount to fifty thousand dollars a special committee shall be appointed by the Grand Master to determine whether the fund is sufficient to establish a Masonic Home, and whether it is expedient to do so at that time, and report their findings to Grand Lodge.
Said trustees shall appoint a representative in each lodge in the jurisdiction who shall urge the craftsmen from time to time to donate to this fund, requesting those amply provided for in material things to remember the fund in their wills; said representative shall report to the trustees at least thirty days before each Annual Communication of Grand Lodge.

Ordered: That the Constitution, General Regulations, Decisions and Standing Orders adopted, shall be engrossed by the committee appointed to revise the Constitution under the direction of the Grand Master, and that the same shall take effect at such time as the Grand Master shall appoint; and at said time all other Constitutions, General Regulations, Decisions and Standing Orders, inconsistent with those on said day adopted, shall be abrogated.

Ordered: That a charter be issued to Overseas Lodge No. 40, F. & A.M., to be located in the City of Cranston, with the right to accept applications only from those residents thereof who were in the Armed Forces, or in the auxiliary service connected with the Armed Forces of the United States, and those who may at the time of making their application be in the Armed Forces of the United States.
