Resolved: That the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island hereby directs that every subordinate lodge in its jurisdiction shall cause the American Flag to be displayed at every communication.

43 Specifics for Stated Communications

No. 43. Specifics For Stated Communications

Ordered: That the by-laws of every subordinate lodge in this jurisdiction shall fix the place, date and hour at which its Stated Communications shall be held; and that the hour fixed by the by-laws shall not be changed except by the order of the Master of said lodge, and that in case of a Stated Communication being held at an hour other than that fixed by the by-laws, at least three days' written or printed notice shall be given to each member of the lodge.

No. 43.1. Omission Of Stated Communications

Ordered: That the subordinate lodges may, by a majority vote, at the next regular communication preceding the 15th day of June, in each year, dispense with the regular communications appointed by its by-laws, to be held between said 15th day of June and the 15th day of September next ensuing. Likewise, after a regular vote of the lodge and with the permission of the Grand Master, a lodge may dispense with its January and February communications and hold communications in July and August.

44 Forfeiture of accepted petitions

No. 44. Forfeiture Of Accepted Petitions

Resolved: That if any petitioner for the degrees in Freemasonry who has received a clear ballot and against whom no lawful objection has been made, fails to present himself for initiation within six months of the date of the notification given him of his acceptance by the lodge, he shall forfeit all rights thereunder, and if he desires to take the degrees he must apply for them in the same manner as any other applicant, and the lodge must follow the course of procedure as provided by the Constitution.

44.1 Exceptions to forfeitures

No. 44_1. Exceptions To Forfeitures

Ordered: That Standing Order No. 44 issued on May 15, 1905 shall not apply to any petitioner for the degrees who, because of his status in the armed services of the United States of America, is unable to present himself for initiation within six months of the date of the notification given him of his acceptance by the lodge; provided, however, he shall present himself for initiation within six months of the date when said status no longer shall make him unable to do so.

Resolved: That the Grand Master for the time being is authorized to direct that the Past Master's degree be conferred or communicated after the close of all the ceremonies of installation.

No. 47. Compilation Of Approved Changes

Resolved: That the Grand Secretary be required to add to the compilation of the Constitution, General Regulations, Decisions and Standing Orders from time to time as they are approved, and that one copy be prepared for the use of the Grand Master of Masons, one copy for the use of the Committee on Jurisprudence and one copy retained in the office of the Grand Secretary.
