Standing Orders

This section contains the Standing Orders of the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island. Standing Orders usually come about as a result of an action taken by Grand Lodge, lodge or individual member, and may be considered edicts that often affect the Constitution or General Regulations (or both) but are not embodied in it. Because of their effect on either (or both) of said parts, they must be approved in accordance with the requirements for alterations and amendments of the Constitution or General Regulations. Although the majority of Standing Orders appear here in numerical order, many have been re-designated and placed either following or subordinate to those dealing with similar topics. The first date affixed to each is that of ratification along with the part, article and section number affected where applicable. Further information may be appended as necessary.
