1.1.1 Title of the Grand Lodge

The title of this Grand Lodge shall be the name by which it is designated in the act of incorporation, originally granted by the General Assembly of the State of Rhode Island, at its May Session, A.D. 1812, and returned to this Grand Lodge by the General Assembly at its January Session, A.D. 1861, and which name is "The Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations."

Resolved: That the original charter, granted at the May session of the General Assembly, A.D. 1812, and voluntarily surrendered March 17, A.D. 1834, and restored by an Act of the General Assembly, passed at the January session, A.D. 1861, be and the same is hereby accepted.
